James Caan - Chairman
James is one of the UK's most successful entrepreneurs, with a career of successfully building and selling global companies. James's first business was in the recruitment industry, which he launched in his early twenties and subsequently sold for £130 million. While running this company, he grew a start-up franchise recruitment company from nothing to a multi-national organisation spanning 147 offices in 30 countries. James now heads up his own investment firm, Hamilton Bradshaw, which represents the embodiment of his core investment philosophies: to observe the masses and do the opposite and to invest in people with passion. Hamilton Bradshaw invests in companies at all stages of growth across sectors and is based in Mayfair, London.
Phil Roebuck - Managing Director
Phil has been an entrepreneur for most of his adult life. At just 22 years old, he set up a traditional recruitment agency focusing on the IT sector.
A few years later, and armed with a wealth of knowledge surrounding the recruitment industry, he chose to address the negative pre-conceptions surrounding the industry by going against everything he had practiced for the last three years. In 2001 he introduced webrecruit, the UK's first flat fee online recruitment service.
No one could have predicted the phenomenal response this new recruitment model would have. And 8 years later, 100,000s of candidates and 1000s of businesses are still benefitting from the company's unique approach to recruitment.
Jay Cholewinski - Operations Director
Jay joined webrecruit at its embryonic stage. He too identified the potential impact the company's unique recruitment model could have on the UK market and seven years later, is still one of the key drivers of its phenomenal success.
Working from the ground up, Jay has enhanced every stage of the webrecruit process, from candidate management and service delivery through to sales and key account management.
Now operating at a strategic level, he is responsible for the company's operations, continually fine tuning service delivery and ensuring webrecruit is the leader in its field.
His passion for delivering a fairer service to candidates is still his top priority, as is his commitment to offering the UK's businesses with more cost effective ways to secure their next new talent.
Matt Cummings - Sales & Marketing Director
Matt began his career as an officer in the Royal Navy and then successfully moved into the commercial world working in a number of senior sales and marketing roles for fast growing technology and service companies. He then started his own business coaching company helping SME business owners to develop their own business. He joined the board of webrecruit in August 2007 and is responsible for the Sales and Marketing - keen to get this great results-based service in front of many hiring managers as possible.
Having experienced recruitment both as client and candidate, Matt believes the recruitment industry needed a fresh approach; one based on value, service, openness and with the internet being the enabling technology. Matt is very proud webrecruit has pioneered this new flat-fee online recruitment model and that we continue to save UK businesses many thousands of pounds over traditional recruitment methods.
Stephen Mix - Non Executive Director
Stephen works on the Investment team at Hamilton Bradshaw. Stephen has experience working with high-growth businesses across various service sectors, predominantly in marketing functions, and has implemented systems within companies to help them scale up. He has an MBA from the Imperial College Business School.
