You may well already know, but we’ve teamed up with the wonderful Aimee Bateman of Careercake.TV, to bring you live, interactive career advice. The show will feature on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30-7pm and focus on a different work-related topic each time.

New and exclusive to webrecruit, CareerCamLive is not to be missed! It comes completely free of charge and hassle; no need to sign up or register. All you need to do is click here to be taken straight to the channel where it takes place. Never has it been so easy to get career advice tailored to your requests.

It works on an entirely interactive level, whereby, Aimee will be fielding your questions via Facebook and Twitter. This means that while she is taking the session, you can talk to her in real-time, putting your queries to her and receiving expert advice back.

The first session is going to be looking at ‘Using Social Media to Job Hunt’. With the fast changing, increasingly prevalent nature of social media; are you harnessing it to its full capacity?

Are you aware of how to build your own personal brand? Is your online persona preventing you getting in front of the right people? Are you looking to be able to connect and effectively engage with companies, which could potentially provide you with employment?

These are all very poignant factors in today’s fiercely competitive job market. Social media is a powerful tool. It has the ability to transform your chances and career capabilities and is available to all.

Time to take note? Then here it is… CareeCamLive – Using Social Media to Job Hunt. Tune in on the 7th August at 6:30pm, to find out how Aimee could help you achieve your career dreams.

Yes all very well, but what do you intend to do about all some so called recruiters and jobs boards who dont even respond when applications are made, or call you with incredible positions, and then you hear nothing at all. Also ageism, a thing of the past I think not, another ill of recruiters, strange when I removed my d.o.b from my cv I seemed to get more responses at times than when it was on it.

I despair of job hunting online, career initiatives and everything else, at the end of the day if the jobs arent there this is just unnecessary window dressing……and also people like the Ladders who want people to pay for their services…..where do you get the money to pay when you have no job…ridiculous

Hi Steve, thank you for your comment – you make a very valid point. It is very difficult for people out there looking for work, especially with the challenges facing all demographics. What we are trying to do is to give you as much help and support as we can, because for some it will be needed.
Aimee is a career expert and her sessions are informative and dynamic. I believe you could get something out of watching. The first session is looking at social media – are you using this as a tool in your job hunt? Do you have a question you want to put to her about using social media more effectively? Thanks again Steve.
