webrecruit reaches LinkedIn milestone
Online fixed-fee recruiter, webrecruit, has today reached an astonishing 75,000 members in their LinkedIn Group: Transforming Recruitment Online.
Set up in May 2009, the group has brought together leading figures in the online recruitment industry to discuss and share industry news, updates and best practice.
The content of the group – including a weekly Q&A column from the organisation’s Chairman, James Caan – is designed to provide the industry with an advice forum for recruitment-related issues.
Phil Roebuck, Founder / Director at webrecruit, explains why he thinks the group is so popular: “Having used LinkedIn in our day-to-day jobs we recognised a need to bring together the recruitment industry, organisations and job hunters in one place to discuss the issues in the industry and highlight best practice”.
“We set up the LinkedIn group in response to this need and saw a huge impact in only a short space of time.”
Roebuck continues. “The great thing about the group is everyone is there to help each other. As a recruiter I read a discussion from a frustrated job hunter and offer them advice, but also take on board their comments. As we look to bring down unemployment figures in the UK, having this networking platform will bring together organisations and individuals who may not have reached one another elsewhere.”
