Online recruitment activity saw modest growth in both the UK and Europe, according to Monster's latest employment indices for November*.

The UK index rose by a couple of points to 114 - its highest level since February - as the job market continued to show signs of recovery. 

Activity increased across the majority of industry sectors, while in regional terms Wales and Scotland registered the biggest bounce-backs with rises of fifteen and ten points respectively.  Most other parts of the UK saw more modest increases, while East Anglia remained unchanged and Northern Ireland suffered a further two-point fall.

"The November Index findings show that UK online job recruitment activity is once again trending in the upward direction," says Hugo Sellert, Monster Worldwide's head of economic research.  "Slowly, employers seem to be gaining the confidence to hire again.  Online opportunities continue to grow in education and healthcare and now, recently, in arts, entertainment, sports and leisure...”
