Assistance for employers 'can be found in card deck'

A resource pack available for employers wishing to improve their relationship with their workforce has taken an interesting new angle.

It does not involve board rooms and meetings but rather a specially-designed pack of cards, reported Personnel Today.

The Engaging Ideas resource pack includes 54 cards, each featuring an exercise or idea on the front and a "stimuli" on the back designed to provoke new ideas and action over workplace issues.

Rob Fox, author of the cards said that a lot of theories about how to engage employees falls short of its purpose.

"This theory too often leaves practitioners with the vital question of what they should actually do in order to better inspire higher engagement as the foundation for delivery of higher business performance," he added.

Mr Fox said he believes the Engaging Ideas pack addresses these concerns.

Around 42 per cent of the UK workforce said that they felt their wages failed to keep up with their cost of living, according to a recent YouGov poll.
