Employees who work at computers everyday have many concerns about stress, illness and injuries caused by their job, it has been discovered.

According to a study by the Trades Union Congress (TUC), three out of five people said stress or overwork was a concern in their workplace, Personnel Today reports.

The second-most common concern was illness and injuries gained from poor use of display screen equipment and 40 per cent of those asked said they were concerned about repetitive strain injuries.

Brendan Barber, general secretary of the TUC, said: "Unions and employers must work together to combat this as it can have a huge personal cost to workers and a damaging cost to businesses."

Noise and back injuries were also listed as top hazards by many people.

Earlier this month, the British Osteopathic Association said that many office employees suffer from bad posture as they often spend their whole day sitting down at a computer.
