The practice of e-recruitment is set for major growth among organisations across the UK in years to come, one expert has asserted.

Don McIntosh, director of development for RecruitActive, is convinced that more and more businesses and employers will soon be using online recruitment strategies to fill their vacant positions.

"If I were to stick my neck out and make a prediction, I would say that more than 70 per cent of companies who could benefit from e-recruitment will be doing so within the next decade," he told HR Zone.

Mr McIntosh has written a book detailing some of the most important aspects that need to be considered with regards to online recruitment and he puts particular emphasis on thorough strategic planning and being honest when it comes to the efficacy of online recruitment portals.

Meanwhile, a recent report from Personnel Today urged human resource professionals to give careful consideration to how going online could boost their recruitment efforts.
