Fish4jobs: Still plenty of vacancies in UK

The current job climate is still healthy and job seekers should have no trouble finding vacancies in the current jobs market, a recruitment website has said.

A report conducted by online recruitment company Fish4jobs.com claims that despite credit crunch woes, there are still "plenty of vacancies available".

Fish4's poll also found that 57 per cent of companies polled had used recruitment consultancies and the same amount also advertised vacancies through their websites.

Chief executive officer for Fish4jobs.com Joe Slavin said: "It is evident that recruiters are being more cautious with their money, but recruitment will continue to be an important cost unless the jobs market slows down."

He added that the result of the survey is "great news" for job seekers, although people should be wary before leaving their current jobs, the Westmorland Gazette reported.

Despite the economic slowdown, major companies McDonald's and Travelodge have announced mass recruitment drives within the last week.
