Hot topics at this year's CIPD conference

Issues important to human resources employees over the last year are set to be discussed during this year's annual Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) conference, a representative has said.

Subjects on the agenda include the much-publicised credit crunch, talent management and the secrets of effective leadership, Nina Harman, head of conferences and exhibitions at the CIPD told hrzone.co.uk.

"For us, it's about getting the right format, the right topics, the right features, the right showcases on the exhibition floor and making sure that what we are offering is relevant," Ms Harman elaborated.

The conference, which offers advice, workshops and networking tools to employers, will run over three days this year, from the 16th to the 18th of September.

In May it was announced that the CIPD conference will move from its traditional home in Harrogate to Manchester in 2009 and will be held in November - two months later than the forthcoming 2008 event.
