Industry 'gurus' set for CIPD conference

Leading figures from a variety of industries are to address the latest issues affecting the human resource (HR) sector at a conference in Harrogate later this year.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) describes its guest speakers as "gurus" and they are each expected to deliver speeches on the British jobs market.

Online recruitment is a likely topic of interest to speakers and audience members at the CIPD's Annual Conference and Exhibition, which gets underway on September 16th.

Among those preparing to speak at the event are HR experts from Asda, Google, VT and Tata Sons.

Chief executive of the CIPD Jackie Orme commented: "Anyone involved in the management and development of people can be sure of coming away with fresh insights and practical solutions that can be implemented in their own workplace."

Online recruitment has become a crucial aspect of how many companies operate and the CIPD recently urged the British business sector to "keep their nerve" in the face of the ongoing economic turmoil.
