Job seekers looking for the perfect employers could find advice from one newspaper useful.

The Washington Post has released a guide advising people on how to find the right boss when they go for job interviews.

Firstly, the newspaper advises that it is important to meet a direct supervisor at an interview and not to be afraid to ask them questions about their training and how they ended up working for the company.

Also, consider non-verbal clues to their personality such as eye contact, whether they arrived on time and if they seemed focused during the interview.

It may also be a good idea to ask about an employer's reputation within the company as it is useful to have a boss who is receiving promotions.

Career coach Bill Pullen told the Washington Post: "Too often, we get caught up in an attitude of 'pick me, pick me, pick me,' when we really should be giving more thought to whether a place is right for us."

Last month, a study by the Hay Group found that 41 per cent of employees felt their superiors did not give encouragement in the workplace.
