Pay inequality 'as prominent as ever'

Despite the recent attention around the single equality bill, a poll has found that the pay gap between men and women is as wide as ever.
According to the survey, conducted by private members club the Route, women earn an average of 37 per cent less than men performing the same roles.
The pay gap varied from sector to sector however with men in the legal jobs earning £622,000 against a female average wage of £255,000, Recruiter reported.
On the plus side, the poll found women entrepreneurs earned an average of £130,000 compared to their male equals whose average salary was £121,000 per year.
Speaking on the subject recently, former businesswoman of the year winner Nabila Sadiq commented: "It's completely unacceptable and if the situation doesn't change rapidly, more women will take their skills out of big established businesses and turn to entrepreneurial start ups."
The government is currently working on a single equality bill which aims to promote equal rights to benefit employees of all backgrounds and abilities.
