Pay rises in the recruitment sector
24.10.2008
Senior employees working in recruitment or online recruitment have seen the highest increase in salary compared to others at their level, suggesting their skills are being valued more than ever.
According to onrec.com, this year's Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Croner Reward pay survey shows that salaries for recruitment consultants are around 11 per cent above that of the average senior management.
This is an increase from 2007 when their salary was four per cent above the average.
Charles Cotton, reward adviser at the CIPD, said that although some employers are having to cut back on staff because of financial issues, they are "still looking to recruit individuals at all levels with the right skills, knowledge and attitudes to lead them through these difficult times".
Last week it was reported that companies are increasingly looking to the internet for recruitment, using social networking sites such as Facebook to check up job applicants.
