Employers using either traditional or online recruitment methods may find advice offered by Pareto Law useful as they look to select the best candidates for the job.

The firm claims that when interviewing new recruits, evidence of pro-activity is one of the most important things managers should look for.

A candidate with previous experience in an industry can demonstrate that they may not only be knowledgeable, but also keen and enthusiastic, onrec.com reports.

"If your candidate tells you they would be perfect for the job, you expect them to have some relevant experience to back this up", Pareto Law says.

Attitude, preparation and appearance are also important things for employers to look out for, especially as first impressions are often based on personal presentation.

Last month, Joe McDermott, from Interviewgold.com, said that CVs alone are not enough to secure jobs and interviews are a vital part of the recruitment process.
