Talent management 'failing candidates and employees'

Talent management 'failing candidates and employees'

According to an expert, the talent managing programmes put in place by many companies are failing to attract the right candidates and build on current employees' abilities.
Nick Warren, head of talent consulting for Hewitt HR and outsourcing consultants, said that businesses are not appealing to the appropriate candidates.
A recent survey from the Building the Talented organisation found that 73 per cent of those polled feel their companies' methods of attracting new talent are suitable.
However, over half of respondents said they do not believe these strategies are reflected in the decisions of their company's leaders.
"Many line managers currently do not have the capability, time or will to manage talent correctly. As a result, too many businesses are failing to attract the right people or develop the talent they have," Mr Warren said.
A poll carried out by the Human Capital Institute and IBM found that employees had not been placed in the appropriate roles at 46 per cent of the companies questioned.
