Recruitment fairs operating online can offer graduates good opportunities, it has been claimed.

According to Jayne Rowley, the publishing director for Graduate Prospects, online recruitment fairs can be particularly good for those graduates who have issues in respect of accessibility.

They have also been described as beneficial for those graduates who possess "diversity agendas".

Ms Rowley stresses that there are a number of similarities between online recruitment fairs and those conducted in the real world - using either format, candidates are able to meet with potential employers and sit through interviews.

"Graduate Prospects runs a number of virtual fairs throughout the year and recruiters and candidates can meet online. Chat technology enables private online interviews as well as public chat forums," said Ms Rowley.

It was also noted that many job-seekers actually send their CVs directly to potential employers before such events.
