Internet users who make up what has been dubbed the Facebook generation will have no difficulties working with employers over the internet, it has been claimed.
Jayne Rowley, the publishing director of Graduate Prospects, has also confirmed that social networking sites actually operate as a useful conduit for sourcing potential vacancies with employers, as networking is a very good way to become noticed by potential employers.
"The more resources a graduate can identify, the more choice they are giving themselves," said Ms Rowley.
"As the social networks extend their reach in to professional areas, the Facebook generation will feel entirely comfortable engaging with employers in this way in the future."
In related news, Ms Rowley has spoken positively about the role of recruitment agencies for graduates who are currently seeking employment.
She has advised such graduates that agencies often work with clients to do recruitment work that has been outsourced by employers.
