An increasing number of businesses are likely to offer their employees the option of working from home in the future, it has been suggested.

Director of travel company Cruise118 Mal Barritt told Online Recruitment that homeworking can mean both companies and their staff members make financial savings during the "difficult economic climate".

"I would be surprised if we didn't see many more business offering staff homeworking options," he stated, adding that workers will save money on childcare and petrol.

According to a survey by Cruise118, 46 per cent of 1,000 office workers questioned would like to work from home.

In fact, the poll revealed that only one in five respondents want to stay working in an office full time.

Health and safety advice for businesses who offer their employees the opportunity to work from home was recently issued by Glovers Solicitors, Bytestart reported.
