Companies encouraged to recruit online

An expert has given advice to companies about online recruitment, suggesting it is a great way for them to attract job seekers.
Browsing the internet is now a daily part of most people's lives and many spend up to 35 per cent of their media time using it, Personnel Today reports.
Therefore Marco Bertozzi, director of media and digital at recruiters TMP Worldwide, recommends employers take advantage of this and use it to recruit workers.
"How a company approaches candidates online influences how it will be perceived and the internet helps position organisations as forward thinking and innovative," he said.
Having a clear understanding of the kind of people a company wants to attract to a position is also essential if they are considering online recruitment, according to Mr Bertozzi.
Woolworths is one company taking advantage of the internet as it is going to be recruiting temporary Christmas staff for 200 of its stores online, onrec.com reported.
