Some online recruitment agencies could be offering further services to job seekers by joining forces with Jobcentres to help find employment for those looking for work in the UK.

Private sector recruiters from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation will sign an agreement with Jobcentre Plus, a public sector-run service, in which they will provide back-up help and support.

Employment minister Tony McNulty claimed that previously Jobcentre Plus would be considered as competition for private recruitment and online recruitment agencies.

However, he said that now "we are all in the same business - the business of finding jobs for the unemployed - so it makes sense to join up our efforts and draw on each other's expertise".

Another way in which job seekers could increase their employment prospects is by making use of video CV services which may be offered by online recruitment agencies in the future, according to Onrec.com.
