Recruiters are missing out on potential managerial talent by failing to use the best processes available to them.

Such is the claim of a report from the human resource consultancy firm Penna, which makes the case for having a more globally focussed and online recruitment practices in place.

Employers should be using e-recruitment and be able to communicate with the best candidates from around the world in their own language, which only a fifth of the companies polled by Penna said they were.

"To ensure that cross-border recruitment is as seamless as possible, organisations should choose a recruitment partner who can manage their whole international recruitment strategy," Diana Haddad, Penna's managing director, told Management Issues.

Last week, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development suggested that people looking for jobs can improve their chances by learning a second language.
