Website redesign sees online recruitment figures 'continue to increase'
13.11.2008
Online recruitment is still proving popular during the economic downturn as global traffic for one site increased by over 100 per cent year on year.
According to Onrec.com, a website redesign by the Telegraph Media Group (TMG) is thought to have helped pull in over 533,000 global unique users and increase its CV database to include over 75,000 job seekers.
Specific job sectors have been addressed to optimise recruitment in certain areas such as engineering, manufacturing and sales. The success of this approach then led to a focus on the secretarial, IT, customer service and education industries.
Nigel Leigh, Digital Manager of classifieds at TMG, said that the "impressive traffic growth has come from a number of technical initiatives".
The most recent figures published by the Monster Employment Index this week further supported the growing use of online recruitment in the UK as the number of users in the country is up, compared to downturns experienced elsewhere in Europe.
