A new report has pointed to the increasing proportion of people in the UK who plan to change their career at some stage in their lives.

Figures compiled by ICM on behalf of the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) have shown that 60 per cent of Britons who are currently employed plan to switch career at some point.

Indeed, close to a quarter said they expect to have as many as four careers before they retire completely, which could serve to highlight to importance of online recruitment for businesses across the country.

"An exceptional business will recognise key trends, observe how trends impact on productivity, and take action to ensure that risks are mitigated and benefits are maximised," remarked Larry Hirst, chairman of IBM Europe.

Earlier this year, a poll by the TDA found that a majority of people in the UK consider medicine to be the "most talented" profession, followed by teaching and law.
