A number of Webrecruit staff took to the streets of Exeter this weekend to take part in Age UK’s annual 10k race.
The race, attended by 726 participants, started within the city centre and finished on the quay, was supported by a number of headline sponsors including Radio Exe, Express and Echo and Webrecruit.
The race supports Age UK Exeter, whose aim is to improve later life for people in Exeter by providing services and support. All money raised from the race is to go towards their Annual Appeal.
Managing Director, Jay, Commercial Director, John, and Marketing Assistant, Sophie, all completed the race around the 50 minute mark, and Lucie Roberts and Sam Duffy, members of the account management team, finished at 1:08 and 1:24 – a brilliant effort from all.
Jay, MD, said: ‘With high-fives and doughnuts all-round, each of our runners was thrilled to finish and congratulate each other. Everyone at Webrecruit was pleased to add to our donations towards Age UK, supporting a brilliant charity in Exeter’. Commenting on the run, Sam said, “it was tough work, but I am so glad to have taken part”.
The run complemented a variety of activities – including a bake off – that the Webrecruit team is taking part in and making donations towards in order to raise money for the charity.
To date, Webrecruit has raised over £1940 so far for Age UK, and we haven’t finished yet – watch this space!
